Born on September 15, 1890 in England, Agatha Christie was one of the top-selling authors. She sold more than two billion copies.

She wrote mystery novels but also plays (The Mousetrap, 1952) and romance novels under the name of Mary Westmacott.

Her most famous characters are :

  • Hercule Poirot who features in 33 novels and 51 short stories.
  • Miss Marple features in 12 novels and 20 short stories.

She died on January 12, 1976 in Winterbrook, England.
